Tulasi, also known as Holy Basil or Ocimum tenuiflorum, is a sacred herb in Hinduism and is highly revered in traditional Indian medicine systems like Ayurveda. It belongs to the Lamiaceae family and is known for its aromatic leaves and medicinal properties. Tulasi is used both ceremonially and medicinally across South Asia and parts of Southeast Asia. Tulasi leaves have a strong, aromatic flavor with peppery, clove-like notes and a slightly bitter undertone.
